About the project

Alexandra Roberts stumbled upon her love of javelin through Little Athletics and since then has gone from strength to strength. She has progressed to competing for school and Club to a National level for several years now and also Internationally at The Commonwealth Youth Games in the Bahamas in 2017.

She has competed at the Australian Junior Athletics Championships in March 2018 and successfully qualified for the selection process hoping to achieve her goal of being selected for the World Juniors Championships in Finland in July 2018.

Alexandra has trained with Brett Green (National Javelin Coach) on the Gold Coast - travelling there 3 times a week from Brisbane until recently when she has moved to Ben Thompson in Brisbane. The 2 coaches are very supportive of Alexandra in her training and goals and believe she has the ability to achieve.

Alexandra shares her love of Javelin through coaching others both at her high school and also at Centenary State High School through their athletic season. She has also completed her Level 1 coaching through Queensland Athletics.

Alexandra competes regularly in Women's Under 18 Javelin (500g weight) and also the under 20/Open Womens (600g).
