My name is Caitlin Adams and I am currently rising through the ranks in the female Australian distance running scene. I have been coached by Adam Didyk and running with Team Tempo since I was a junior athlete. During 2019, I placed 5th in the Australian Championships in the 5000m event in a personal best time of 15:39. Following this run I was selected in the Australian Athletics Team and competed at the World University Games in Italy, placing 8th overall.
A breakthrough run at the Australian Cross Country Team Trials resulted in a 2nd place finish and automatic team selection. I competed at the IAAF/World Athletics World Cross Country Championships in Denmark as a part of the female senior team. Our team placed 5th which was the highest team placing for Australia for several years in this event.
My intentions for 2020 include an altitude training camp in Flagstaff followed by races in the US in April to lower my personal best times toward Tokyo Olympic qualification. Prior to this, I am racing the Australian and New Zealand domestic season, focusing on the 5000m event in order to put myself in the best position for future Australian team selection for the Olympics, Commonwealth Games and World Championships.
Currently, I live out of home and juggle casual work, training commitments and full time study at the University of South Australia. My athletics is self-funded. Any donations would be immensely appreciated and would be a huge help toward travel, physiotherapy, training and competition costs. I am a part of the Team Tempo Booster Program, all details can be found via the link: https://www.temporuncoach.com/tt-booster.
