After the success of the 2018/19 season BobTeam Walker want to continue their strong pursuit of representing Australia at the highest level possible but they need your help.
Starting fresh with new faces Bobteam Walker attacked the first season of the new Olympic quad head on and the results showed. With the introduction of Monobob as a new Olympic event, the teams pilot Bree Walker won the first events in Lillehammer, Norway and won the silver medal in Königssee, Germany. Continuing their success Bree Walker and newest addition, brakemen Jamie Scroop went on to win bronze medals in the Winterberg and the Igls Europe Cup two-man races and finished off the season with the teams World Cup debut in Igls, Austria. These solid results demonstrate the team’s potential to be the best and they plan to continue this path of success towards the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing but they can’t do it alone.
The teams dedication and passion for the sport is clear but unfortunately their love doesn’t come cheap. Bobsleigh is an extremely expensive sport requiring the team to travel overseas for 4-5 months a year to train and compete completely out of their own pocket. In addition, the equipment can be a major factor in the success or failure of a team and in order to be competitive against the top teams in the world they need the funds to obtain the best equipment.
As such, we are hoping to raise $8,000 for a competitive sled so we can again achieve top results in the Europe Cup and compete in our first World Cup circuit and World Championships. Your tax deductible donations will be helping Bobteam Walker step things up this season and help us achieve our full potential as we continue to develop into the world class athletes we know we can be and stand at the top of the hill in Beijing 2022 proudly representing Australia!!
