It’s is such a privilege to be able to represent Australia at the Ironman 70.3 World Championships, something I have worked so hard for.
My name is Jason Hamlyn I’m 35 years old and very proud and excited to be representing myself and Australia at the World Championships in France on the 8th of September 2019.
I live in a small country town and I want to be a role model for any young athlete trying to achieve their goals. No matter how isolated you are, whatever you put your heart and soul into you will achieve.
Triathlon is a thriving sport throughout Australia. Triathlon is a sport where you compete in three different disciplines. You swim, ride then run, competing against the time and of course your fellow competitors. Because your competing as hard and fast as possible in all sorts of climatic conditions it takes every ounce of determination and energy resources you have.
I am seeking support from the community to help me compete in Triathlons and travel to the World Championships in France. There is no funding for athletes who get the chance to represent Australia.
By fundraising, it will help make my participation a reality. The approximate cost of equipment, travel costs, accommodation, food and insurance will be around $10,000.
Through the Australian Sports Foundation (ASF) I have created my own fundraising page. The fantastic bonus of having The ASF as my fundraising partner is that all donations over $2 are Tax Deductible for your benefit at tax time.
All donations, no matter how small will help me on my Triathlon Journey. Representing Australia and achieving my sporting goals and passion.
