“You can either choose to wait around and hope life gives you what you want—or you can choose to jump up and put in the work to make your dream come true.”
Hi!! My name is Jo-Elle Natividad and I love Softball. I’ve always believed that to achieve your dreams – you have to get out there and work hard and never give up! So that’s what I have done. I am chasing after my dreams. Since I was 13 – and fell in love with playing softball, I have worked hard at learning and improving my skills. I am now ready to embark on the next part of my journey – by playing College softball in the United States. I have been offered a position with a Junior College in Kansas and am leaving in 2019 to live out my dream! I am so excited, and a little nervous, about the life-changing opportunity that awaits me.
Softball opportunities are few and far between in Australia - so I am pursuing my goals overseas in the US College system. The level of competition will be amazing, and I will get to not only play the game I love but get a great education as well.
Softball is a great sport, very fast-paced and competitive but is also a very expensive sport. As a Catcher, I need a lot of gear, there are constant travel costs associated with playing, training and getting to and from tournaments, and not to mention the Club, Regional, Queensland and International fees to compete. This next step in my journey will also involve all the costs to attend US College as an International Student and Athlete.
I am asking for help from the community to help me keep my dream alive!
College Softball in the United States will be very expensive and even after the large financial investment from my family, funds are needed to help set me up in the United States, pay for travel and Visas and College tuition and accommodation. There is no state or national sports funding to pursue my Softball dream so I am asking for your help.
The costs for just my first year at College sits at around $13,000 US. So I have created this project through the Australian Sports Foundation to help me get some financial support – and the bonus is that ALL donations are tax deductible so you can recoup some your donation at tax time!
All donations – no matter how big or small will help me live my dreams – something I have been working hard towards for a number of years. For businesses, community groups and for larger donations, I would love to ‘give back’ by offering to acknowledge donations on social media and offering to give presentations to your organisation, school or community group when I return to Australia after my first year at College. This would provide you with an opportunity to understand how important your donation was to me and how it has helped me achieve my dream.

With permission, I would love to post thankyou messages on my facebook page to those who support me in my fundraising efforts, so you can expect a post from me recognising your contribution ! (unless you tell me otherwise).
