Hi, My name is Sophie Martin and I'm a 16 yr old Tenpin Bowler from Horsham Victoria​.

I have recently been selected to play for Australia at the World Junior Tenpin Bowling Championships in France. I am one of only two girls. The Championships are in Paris from March 17th to 24th.

                 A dream come true.   All my training and hard work has paid off !!!!!

I began bowling in 2011 at my local bowling ally, where today I am female Club Champion 2nd year in row.

I started competing in the Victorian Country Cup competitions in 2014 followed by state competitions later on, winning many medals and trophies. and making many friends along the way.

In 2017 and 2018 , I was selected for the Victorian President's Shield Team, Australia's premier Junior Event, where our girls team won gold and we also secured the  President's Shield,

I am also the current title holder of the Junior Female Classic Cup 2018, an Australian Title.

I've also been selected again to play for Victoria in 2019, so GO VICS !!!

In 2018, I was selected to join the National Training Squad ( NTS ) where I was selected to represent Australia at the Asian Schools Games in Taiwan. I have recently been selected for the NTS again for 2019.

My selection for Junior Worlds in Paris is a dream come true,  a once in a lifetime opportunity , as its only held every 2 years and I will have aged out next time around.

Bowling is not only about throwing a ball down a lane, it involves a lot of training, travel ( my coach is 2.5 hrs away ) and mental fitness. The support I get from my family, friends and community assists greatly in myself achieving what I have and I thank them all very much.

I am doing this fundraising page to help my family with the huge expense of sending me to represent our wonderful country - Australia  in Paris.

The costs are about $6000 that include all travel . flights, accommodation, uniform, meals , fees and any other costs that arise with the trip and competition. A huge ask for any family !!!

I don't normally do this but I'm asking for your help to assist me on my journey to The World Championships in Paris.
