About the project
Australia's Junior female single sculling rowing champion, Taylor McCarthy-Smith has been selected to represent Australia at the Junior World Rowing Championships in the Women's Double Scull. Taylor is currently a full time student completing her year 12 studies in Brisbane. Taylor currently trains 5 mornings and 5 afternoons per week including up to 5 hours on a Saturday morning. Rowing is an expensive sport for the underage athletes with single sculls costing up to $15,000 and a set of oars costing $1,000. Not to mention the costs of attending National and selection regattas held interstate and physiotherapy and massage costs.
Junior rowers also need to contribute a considerable seat fee toward attending the World Championships. Taylor demonstrates incredible dedication for a young athlete and every little bit helps her to be able to focus her time on studying and training toward the World Championships in August. Thank you for your support and helping Taylor to realise her dream!
