About the project

Hi, my name is Zac. I’m 17 years old from Fremantle, Western Australia and I love sailing. My passion started in 2009.

I’ve just won a gold medal at the Men’s World Laser Radial Championships in Kiel in Germany and I’m currently in Texas, USA, representing Australia at the World Youth Championships in the Laser Radial class. Racing starts next week.

Every trip provides me with more skills and experience and the likelihood of achieving my goal of representing Australia at the Olympics when I’m in my 20’s.

I need to travel to Tasmania in December / January to compete in National regattas and to gain selection in international events in 2019.

I receive fantastic support through my scholarship at the WA Institute of Sport, and I’ve received some grants from my sailing clubs, Royal Freshwater Bay and Fremantle, plus scholarships from both the D’Arcy Slater Foundation in 2016 and the Ron Tough Yachting Foundation in 2017. My pensioner grandmother has supported me financially until now and I now need to look for wider support.

Financially supporting me will help me with travel costs, boat transport and maintenance costs, plus boat charter for international events and the ability to defend my Men’s World Laser Radial Championship title in 2019..

 I need to fundraise $25,000.

Thank you for taking the time to read about me.
