This fundraiser is to support Aotea's participation in the Western Australian U/15 Boy's State Schools' Representative Touch Football team travelling to the National Championships held in Newcastle, NSW in October 2026. Chur everyone, My name is Aotea and I’m 14 years old. I was born in Kalgoorlie WA but very still proud of my māori heritage. Due to my dad’s job we've lived Regional most of my life and now call the beautiful town of Broome in the Kimberleys our home. My dream is to also play Junior States and ultimately earn a place in the National Youth Championships (NYC) Team, representing Western Australia in Touch Football. I’ve been around Sport my whole life and my love for Touch especially has grown stronger over the years. Touch Football is a passion that runs through my family—both my parents and my brothers play and continue to enjoy the sport, so it’s something I’ve grown up with and truly love. Being selected as the only player from Regional Western Australia in the Under 15s WA State Schools team is an achievement I’m incredibly proud of, especially coming from a regional community where opportunities and the standard of competition are far more limited than in metropolitan areas. Seeing my family help me through my journey so far, and realising how much they have done for me, truly makes me grateful for their efforts. I hope that the effort my family has put in for me, I can pay them back with a nice looking trophy! How you can help: We are reaching out to our friends, family and community to help fundraise. Being selected is an incredible honor, but opportunities like this come with significant costs and all costs must be covered by the player’s family. We are raising funds to cover expenses to participate including:

Domestic air travel from Broome to Perth for Team Trainings up until the Tournament;

Domestic air travel from Broome to Newcastle, NSW for the National Tournament;

Accommodation and meals for duration of the Tournament;

Competition expenses and tournament fees;

Uniforms and boots;

Your contribution through the Australian Sports Foundation is tax deductible and any support, large or small, will help take one step closer to the dream of playing touch rugby and representing Western Australia.
