Who We Are: The Pacific Youth Rugby Festival is organised and run by women. The Pink Ladies is an initiative under the Pacific Youth Rugby Festival, bringing together a passionate group of women dedicated to supporting rugby events as volunteers. We believe in creating a welcoming and professional environment for women to develop their skills, contribute to the game, and be recognized for their invaluable work. By being able to upskill and develop in this female space means we are able to provide experienced and educated female volunteers back to their grassroots clubs and within the community. Our Mission: At the Pacific Youth Rugby Festival, we believe that volunteers are the backbone of the game. The Pink Ladies is a dedicated group of women who serve as competition organisers, field marshals, and officials ensuring that the festival runs smoothly and safely. We are committed to making volunteering more accessible, rewarding, and enriching for these incredible women by providing the support they need to thrive. Through our efforts, we are not only supporting event operations but also developing and upskilling women who will take their knowledge and experience back to grassroots rugby, strengthening local clubs and communities. What We’re Raising Funds For: We are aiming to raise $20,000 to provide vital support for our Pink Ladies volunteers through: Subsidized Accommodation – Many volunteers travel significant distances to contribute. We want to ensure that financial constraints don’t prevent participation. Uniforms &amp; Essential Kits – Providing volunteers with the necessary gear, including uniforms, staff passes, and day kits, so they can perform their roles effectively and feel part of a professional, unified team. Upskilling &amp; Accreditation Workshops – We aim to create opportunities for volunteers to stay up to date and broaden skills with their field marshal and rugby-related accreditations. By organizing training and collaborative workshops with mentors and guest speakers which are also catered. We ensure that all volunteers are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their duties confidently and also broaden their skills. Why This Matters: Women’s involvement in rugby extends far beyond the playing field. By supporting the Pink Ladies, we are ensuring that women have the opportunity to lead, grow, and contribute in key operational roles. Many of these volunteers juggle work, family, and other commitments, yet they dedicate their time to ensuring the success of events like the Pacific Youth Rugby Festival. By removing financial and logistical barriers, we make it easier for more women to get involved, stay engaged, and develop the skills they need to continue supporting rugby at all levels. How We Plan to Make It Happen: We have a small dedicated team of organizers, volunteers, and advocates working to secure funding and partnerships. We are actively seeking grants and corporate sponsors to complement the generosity of individual donors. We organize training hubs and workshops to make accreditation more accessible and ensure all volunteers have the tools they need. By donating, you’re helping to grow women’s participation, support future leaders, and build a stronger, more inclusive rugby community.
