I’m Reuben Boonzaier, a 15 year old hockey player from Geraldton, Western Australia, and I’m raising funds to travel to Tasmania to compete in the Hockey National Championships, proudly representing my home state of WA.

This opportunity has been the result of a long and focused journey over the past three years. Achieving selection in the WA Under 16 Hockey Team has required consistent commitment, resilience, and sacrifice. Living in a regional area has meant travelling over 400 km from Geraldton to Perth every weekend for four consecutive weeks for trials and training, an experience that tested both my determination and my support network.

None of this would have been possible without the unselfish sacrifice of my parents, who gave their time, energy, and resources to make those trips happen, and the patience and encouragement of my sister, who supported me every step of the way.

The funds raised will help cover the costs of flights, accommodation, team fees, and essential equipment, allowing me to focus on performing at my best at the national championships. I’m incredibly grateful for any support and proud to represent Western Australia on the national stage. Thank you for helping make this opportunity possible.
