Swan District Junior Football Umpire Association is one of the oldest Umpiring Clubs in Perth. In 2024, the club celebrated 60yrs of mentoring our youngsters and placing tremendous value on social benefits, creating better communities through the values of teamwork, responsibility, respect, leadership, commitment, and community participation.As a local club, all our umpires, umpire for Junior AFL clubs in the Perth hill’s area throughout the Cities of Swan, Mundaring, and Kalamunda. Our current umpire’s range in age from 12yrs of age right up to some of our senior umpires being in their 60s and who provide valuable and unprecedented experience and mentoring to our younger umpires in the disciplines of goals, boundary, and field. We strive to provide the opportunity for everyone in our community to participate in healthy, safe, and inclusive Umpiring Junior AFL activities and readily encourage a fun and family orientated environment. We are proud to boast several family groups of fathers and sons and siblings all of whom will at times umpire matches together to strengthen the bonds of family enjoying a sport together.  As a club, we place a high value and mentoring and supporting our umpires. Over the years, many of our umpires in all disciplines have been invited to join the WAFL development programs with another five being invited to join the various development pathway programs for 2025. In 2024 three of our umpires debuted in WAFL games and we have two of our female umpires in the National Women&#39;s Umpire Development Program for 2025. In 2024, we moved to a new training ground at Boya Oval / Community Centre which is more central to our district and current umpires and this has encouraged more aspiring umpires from the hills community to join our club. We had 23 new umpires last year and 16 new umpires for 2025 and as such we need to replace and increase our training resources.We require<ul><li style="text-align: justify;">Two projectors and screens which are used to present videos of matches to the field and goal groups to demonstrate and discuss umpire decisions, positioning around the field or in goals and responses to game day incidents.</li><li style="text-align: justify;">Two sets on intercoms to provide training support by Mentors for developing field umpires during a game. They are also used by junior umpires on the sidelines to listen to the field umpires, learning how they communicate and work together to make decisions and swap over control of the game.</li><li style="text-align: justify;">Twenty Jackets screen printed to identify and provide authorization of Match Day Coaches and mentors who are allocated to train and support umpires either from the sidelines or on the pitch.</li><li style="text-align: justify;">Replacement of training bibs to identify teams in mock games to simulate umpiring scenarios and &#39;trainee umpires bibs&#39; to quickly identify new members for extra support.</li><li style="text-align: justify;">Three large AFL coaching boards (super deluxe)</li><li style="text-align: justify;">Twenty AFL coaching boards (standard) for mentors to take to matches</li></ul>
