Growing up, I played able body soccer, by play I mean I sat on the bench alot. This didn't bode well with my self-confidence... I just thought I'd never be athletic. I still remember the day I was exposed to the Pararoos. You could not wipe the smile off my 10 year old self. I started to dream… I was going to travel the world, representing my country. It gave a small disabled kid hope of a brighter future. That dream has turned into everything I am today, from graduating university, moving out of home to live in another city, representing the Pararoos for almost 10 years and now leading the next generation and showing them how to make the most of the opportunities that were given to me. The Pararoos are so much more than just a football team; it’s a pathway to lead a fulfilling and impactful life.
