Having spent over 10 years as paralympic footballer. I am forever grateful to have an opportunity to represent my country once again. I left the squad through injury and circumstance. Juggling full time university, Work and Sport I sacrificed my body and mind. Burnt out I needed to be selfish and look after myself. I ended my relationship with the squad after 10 years and it was the best decision I have made. Without a professional set up we cannot compete or perform at an elite level or equip ourselves adequately against those nations that do. The fact remains that without the NGO's we would not have a program at all. WE ARE GRATEFUL. Both the Australian Paralympic Committee and Football Federation Australia should be congratulated on their support of the squad since our humble beginnings in 1999-2000. The support given by the NGO's is invaluable. The coming squad and pararoo program will be a chance to start fresh and hopefully with a more engaged NGO's support the squad can reach the potential of which we have. Ultimately the Squad is endlessly entertaining and the program deserves expansion through scholarships, institute of sport programs and A-league disability competitions and community engagement. WE ARE ENTERTAINING NOT SOCIAL JUSTICE.
