Exciting News for Our Bowling Club!

I’m thrilled to share some fantastic news that’s set to elevate our beloved bowling club to new heights! This is your opportunity to be a part of the biggest infrastructure investment in the club’s 70 year history. 

After much discussion and planning, the executive team has approved an exciting rejuvenation plan, starting with the transformation of “A” Green.

What’s Coming in Stage One?

We’re kicking things off with a fresh, synthetic green surface for “A” Green, thanks to the WA Government through the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC) Community Sporting and Recreation Faclities Fund (CSRFF) and the City of South Perth for their Grant funds.

In addition, with your help, there will be a host of other enhancements designed to create a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere:

• New Paved Surroundings: The area surrounding all of “A” Green will be completely reimagined with a new paved surface, enhancing accessibility and aesthetics.
• All-Weather Shelters: We’ll install permanent shelters at both ends of “A” Green, so you can enjoy your game, rain or shine!
• Comfortable Seating: New seating will be added at both ends of "A" Green, perfect for relaxing between games.
• Updated Scoreboards: Each green will feature new scoreboards, with space for sponsor advertising to support our club.
• New Club Branded Corporate Bowls: We’ll purchase new club-branded corporate bowls to enhance the playing experience for new, social, and corporate bowlers.

With excellent lighting already in place, we believe our night bowls on the new synthetic surface will thrive all year long!

What’s Next in Stage Two?

But that’s not all! We have big plans to further enhance the comfort and enjoyment at our clubhouse, including:

• Air Conditioning to the hall, for a comfortable environment year-round (replacing outdate ceiling fans)
• Bi-fold Doors to create a seamless yet private connection between the hall and the lounge/bar area
• Freshly Resurfaced Hall Floor to give our gathering spaces a new lease on life
• Soundproofing the Ceiling of the lounge/bar area to keep the atmosphere more comfortable while still lively
• Alfresco Blinds for the BBQ area, ensuring you can enjoy the outdoors, no matter the weather
• Outdoor Furniture including tables, chairs, and umbrellas for a welcoming atmosphere
• Public Address System: To ensure everyone stays informed and engaged during events, we’ll be installing our first ever public address system.
• Security Fencing to enhance safety for all members

These upgrades will not only enrich the members experience, but our whole community’s enjoyment and use of the club facilities.

As you can imagine, these improvements come with a price. To help fund this transformative journey, we’re establishing a Rejuvenation Fund with a target of raising $200,000 to implement a staged ‘rebirth’ of our wonderful club. Every contribution counts, and together, we can make this vision a reality!

Donations big and small can be made via Australian Sports Funding. All donations above $2.00 are tax deductible under fund raising for "not for profit" sporting organizations.

You will be kept constantly informed on our progress and activities, as the Club awakens to bring us back to the vibrant social community hub we once were.
