The Club has invested substantially in the refurbishment of the Clubhouse and has already completed Stage 1 using available club funds. The Clubhouse is a 1929 building and had no significant capital investment and hence was antiquated and inefficient. It was has been the single most important strategic project for the Club over many years in order to attract and retain members. The club has an 18 hole golf course, 4 tennis courts, 2 bowling greens and a croquet lawn as well as very active Bridge for sporting members as they transition away from sport and also a popular option in wet weather. We have 1140 members who will benefit from the development and we aim to build a waitlist. We are now ready to do Stage 2a of the Clubhouse which will include; the Men’s Locker Room which houses many of the male honour boards, the southern terrace where a lift will be added for members to access the second level for Bridge and the sports library and archival material as well as administration offices. We have an ageing membership and this is essential. We will also add a clock tower to this area so members can see the time from the golf course. This stage will also include upgrade to the loading dock and refurbishment of the kitchen.
