Gus was a great club member: a Club Captain, President, competitor and a supporter and friend to all Hunters for over fifty years. His untimely death by accident in 1992 led the Club to create The Gus Theobald Foundation. The foundation honours his deeds and name, and fittingly its two annual awards reflect the values Gus epitomized and so loved about Glenhuntly Athletics: •Contributing to the community of athletes •Motivating and inspiring youthful club members The Foundation is a not-for-profit Trust Fund administered by Glenhuntly Athletics. Since its inception ten years ago, the Foundation has been able to give awards to a value of over $10,000. This has been due to the generosity of club members and friends who knew Gus, and to the strong and continuing support of our sponsors, particularly Puma Australia. Donations and bequests to the Foundation are most appreciated and will be used for the benefit of athletes and the Club.
