Huntingdale Golf Club Foundation

Huntingdale Golf Club Foundation

The Huntingdale Golf Foundation was established 2001 to promote, develop and maintain the Club and its standards.

The concept was derived from an acknowledgement that Huntingdale Golf Club Members recognised their obligations to maintain and where possible continue to upgrade the fine facilities handed down to them over the years since the original construction of the course and facilities.

There was a further acknowledgement that this could not reasonably be expected to be achieved from the normal income sources of the Club and Committees have always been faced with the need to keep increases in annual subscriptions as low as possible.

This initiative seeks to make our newer Members aware of the Foundation and give them an ability to be part of the Foundation as well as contributing to the Club in a real way.

Objective of the Foundation

The objective of the Foundation is to establish an ongoing fund that will enable current Huntingdale Club Members and future generations, as a matter of pride, to continue to see that this great golfing facility is not only preserved but enhanced for the enjoyment of future generations.

The Foundation will:

Receive tax deductible donations from those persons or organisations who are in a position to do so.

Receive bequests from present or past HGC Members who wish to acknowledge the value that membership of HGC has provided in their lifetime.

Provide finance for projects that would otherwise not be possible from the normal income sources of the Club.

Provide a means for HGC Members to have a strong voice in any special projects they may wish to see undertaken by the Club.

Administration of the Fund

The Foundation is administered by Trustees, consisting of one appointed Member of the Huntingdale Golf Club General Committee and up to four additional Members of the Foundation.

The Foundation Trustees invite project suggestions from Huntingdale Golf Club Members and as each selected project is determined will make recommendation to the Huntingdale Golf Club General Committee of the day.

Currently the Foundation Trustees are:

Graeme Seignior (Chairman)

Adam Bellgrove

Malcolm Hutson

Karen Crawford

Past and Recent Projects

Over the years the Huntingdale Golf Club Foundation has been involved in partly or fully funding a number of projects including:

New Clubhouse & Carpark

New practise nets behind the Golf Shop

Golf Simulator in Golf Shop

Building the front entrance to the Club and road surfacing & landscaping etc in Windsor Avenue

Synthetic mat on the range

Water fountain and seats around the course

CCTV security systems

Redeveloped and enhanced Practice Putting Green

By far the biggest project undertaken in recent years was the funding of the new car park. The Foundation took a leading role in raising the funds for the car park and our generous Members contributed over $650,000 to enable the car park to be built in a timely manner to compliment the opening of our new magnificent Clubhouse.

Future Projects

The Foundation is currently raising funds for a new chipping green.

The Foundation regularly seeks feedback from the Committee and Members in relation to potential Club facility improvement projects which the Foundation could assist to fund. There are a number of potential “wish list” projects on the table at the moment however the Foundation is also open to new ideas.

Foundation Membership

Members who contribute a combined total over time of $1,000 or more become Foundation Members.

All donations are acknowledged and those that do donate will be included on the Foundation’s Register.

We encourage every Member to take up the opportunity to contribute to the future health of the Club by making a tax deductible donation.
