Jesse Parkinson

Jesse's goal? To be the first snowboarder from tropical Queensland to qualify for the Winter Olympics in 2026 and to compete in the Winter X-Games. At just 18 years of age, Jesse has become one Australia’s elite riders. He has trained in Japan under the eye of their National Coach, holds a scholarship with the NSW Institute of Sport, and is a carded athlete with the Olympic Winter Institute of Australia for the 2026 Olympics in Italy. Jesse actually began his snowboarding career as a surfer on the Sunshine Coast in sunny Queensland. Starting at age 3 he showed freakish talent early and had competition success from the start. At the age of 9 he strapped a snowboard on for the first time and his love of snowboarding was instant. Incredibly after just 2 months on snow, Jesse finished second overall in the Australian Junior Series. As his love for snowboarding grows, so do his results and reputation finishing 5th in his debut World Cup event and an overall World ranking of 33rd after just one competitive season in Europe. Jesse’s exceptional performances in Japan, Australia, New Zealand and Europe have won him the attention and praise of some of the most influential people in the business. To compete at the highest level Jesse needs to follow the snow, which means spending more than 9 months of the year away from family and friends and a lot of overseas travel. This comes at a significant cost to Jesse and his family, not only financially but emotionally as well. It is a testament to Jesse's drive and determination that he is managing it so well at such a young age, with acceptance to the University of the Sunshine Coast to boot! All money raised will go directly towards offsetting the expenses associated with travel, accommodation, coaching and competing, and ensuring Jesse has access to the coaching and training facilities he needs to continue his remarkable progression. One of his coaches said "Talent can only get you so far and this is where Jesse’s potential really becomes clear. Even at his young age, he has a work ethic and passion for the sport that is seldom seen, even among his peers. Jesse is without a doubt one of the nicest, well mannered and fearless kids I’ve ever worked with. There is no doubt that Jesse is a superstar of the sport!”
