Hi my name is Liam, I am 13 yrs old & I live in Golden Beach QLD. I deal with daily challenges with my high functioning Autism & anxiety. I started swimming as therapy recommended by my integrated doctor 3 years ago. I excelled in swimming and have represented my region the last 3 years. I train as much as I mentally and physically am able to. I compete in mainstream because I want to be included like everyonelse in sport. I have been dedicated to be the best I can be but I deal with many challenges that others don’t realise. I always had s passion to be in the surf. I joined last year but was only capable of attending only once in the hole season. The next visit I made my mum drive all the way down the road away from everyone and made her teach me how to run in the ocean away from the nippers training. It took me over an hour to just get out of the car.
