Hi, my name is Mina Ferguson and I am a 49er Fx sailor, campaigning for the LA 2028 games. I am currently a member of the Australian Sailing Futures Squad.

After success in Youth Classes and the Laser Radial, I transitioned into the 49er FX Class with Maddy McLeay. For the past year we have been training hard in Sydney, preparing for overseas competition when the international borders reopen.

This year we will be competing at Kiel Week in Germany (22-27 June), the Open European Championship in Denmark (5-10 July), and the Junior Worlds in Italy (31-7 August).

We also aim to return to Europe next year, after refining our learnings and developing skills at training camps at home.

In order to represent Australia at an international level, I require funds for boat charter, coaching, flights and accomodation. As I get older, and begin to support myself, rather than relying on my parents, I don't want to risk not being able to compete.

Since I first started sailing I've seen an increase in competitors and coverage. The Olympics, Americas Cup and more recently Sail GP, have helped increase the profile of sailing among all Australians. It would be awesome for Australia to be known as a strong sailing nation across as many sailing classes as possible.
