Our Randwick Magic under 18 girls who are the current NSW State Champion Rugby 7s team have been invited to play in the Tournoi Des Capitales in Paris in September. The tournament has been running since 2006 and is a leading international 7 a side tournament. Officially backed by the French Rugby Union (FFR) since 2006 the tournament has welcomed teams from over 20 countries all over the world.

The girls who range in age from 15 to 17 have been playing together since 2016. In 2017 they were invited to compete in the Las Vegas Invitational Tournament as a team of Under 14's and took home the win in the Under 16 age group playing against teams from all over the world.

Magic Girls Rugby is Australia’s leading and largest all female Rugby Club. Formed in 2012 as the Maroubra Magic 7s, our club was an early pioneer in women’s sports being the first all female Rugby 7s club in NSW and possibly Australia. Due to district politics the Maroubra Magic became the “South East Magic” in 2015 and we remain the same name today.

In 2017, as our girls grew up and wanted to remain playing rugby for the Magic club, our club partnered with the world-renowned Randwick Rugby Club. Helping the initial construction of this was Wallabies coaching legend and World Cup winning coach Bob Dwyer, calling our Opens squad Randwick Magic. Again in 2017 we featured in the first ever women’s game during a Saturday Shute Shield round playing an exhibition game against Wests Harbour women’s prior to first grade, laying the foundation for today’s Shute Shield Womens 7s competition, since then the rest has been history.

Since the commencement of our Juniors and Seniors program, the achievements and accolades at State, National and International level has been unsurpassed. Our Magic 7s program is widely seen as the premier rugby 7s program on the International circuit and South East Magic and Randwick Magic is seen as the greatest breeding ground for the next crop of National and State Level players.
