The Mooloolaba Yacht Club's Women’s Sailing Skills Development program is for women of all ages who would like to improve their sailing skills as crew and/or as helms. MYC women’s sailing have on average 100 women following the program with 15 - 20 women actively involved on a regular basis.

Women participating in this program train both in the classroom and on the water on the MYC training boats, the Elliot 6s to develop sailing skills and confidence in a supportive team environment.

The MYC women’s skill development program makes sailing accessible to women of all ages and from all backgrounds. It empowers women to overcome fears and barriers, build self-confidence and to connect with their local community all whist having fun experiencing the great outdoors with a sense of freedom, adventure and achievement.

Women participating in the MYC women’s skills development program have the opportunity to compete in several women’s regattas across Australia as a member of the MYC women’s sailing representative teams. The MYC women’s sailing representative team members are a mix of skilled racing sailors who collectively hold a diverse range of sailing experience and outstanding boat handling skills as well as women who have come through the program getting their first taste of competition.

MYC women’s sailing representative teams will compete in a number of Regattas during the year including -

·        Mooloolaba Women's Keelboat Regatta (QLD)

·        Australian Women’s Keelboat Regatta (VIC)

·        Northern Territory Women's Keelboat Regatta

·        South Australian Women's Keelboat Regatta

·        Townsville Yacht Club GaLs Regatta (QLD)

·        Newcastle Yacht Club She SAILS Regatta (NSW)
