Our national small grants program that funds initiatives and programs aimed at increasing participation in grassroots and community sport throughout Australia.


Applications for Sport4Everyone closed at 11.59pm AEST 19 September

In partnership with Australia Post we created Sport4Everyone, a grant program to increase diversity and social inclusion in sport.

This grant round focused on inclusion and supporting clubs that grow diversity in sport and among people of all cultures, abilities, ages, and genders. Grants of up to $10,000 will be given to clubs whose programs meet these criteria.

Australia Post’s public ancillary fund, Our Neighbourhood Trust, has contributed $350,000 to Giving4Grassroots™  with the aim that it will help to build a healthier, more vibrant and more inclusive communities by supporting community organisations at the grassroots level.

Applicants will be notified of their outcome in October 2017 via email and successful applicants will receive grants in November 2017.

Terms and Conditions

The Sports Foundation’s vision is to build a healthier, sportier and more inclusive Australia. We believe that every Aussie should be able to participate in sport.

Grants will be awarded for projects that use sport to promote social inclusion amongst all genders, cultures, ages and abilities.

Primary audience:

– People from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
– Females
– Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander people
– People with a disability
– Elderly
– Economically disadvantaged

This grant round is available to all states and territories around Australia.

– Your organisation must be a non-profit body, incorporated in Australia.
– You must have an ABN or have already applied for an ABN at the time of applying- you can apply for an ABN here
– Your revenue must be less than $500,000 in each of the last two financial years

Our grant round is open to church groups, community groups, grassroots sports clubs and public primary or secondary schools.

We may also consider grants from other organisations as long as they meet eligibility requirements.

Other important things to note:

– You must be applying for a grant to encourage or increase participation in sport for culturally and linguistically diverse people, girls and women, Aboriginal and Torres Strait people, people with a disability, LGBTIQ+, elderly or economically disadvantaged groups.
– Your application must begin and end within 12 months (before October 2018)
– If your organisation received a grant in 2016 or 2017, you will not be able to apply to the Sport4Everyone grant round
– Each organisation can only submit one Sport4Everyone application

If you can’t finish the form in one go, you can save your form and continue later. If you would like to see all the questions so you know what’s coming up, you can put in place holders such as TBC, and come back later to each question later.

Our team will normally take around 2 weeks to assess applications.

If you’re successful

We will contact successful applicants by email in October with a ‘Successful Application’ letter of offer. Funding will be provided in November 2017.

We do not provide specific feedback on your application.

We also encourage all applicants to sign-up to fundraise with us- clubs and organisations can raise funds for projects and programs that will develop their sport, increase participation, fund team travel and facilities, fund high performance or create pathways.
