DSS Club member Chloe Fisher selected to represent Australia at Youth World Championships. Chloe and Sandy Bay Sailing Club Member Jasmin Galbraith have been selected to represent Australia at the World Youth Sailing Championships in Sanya, China this December. They will be competing in the women's 29er skiff class. Chloe and Jasmin have been working very hard for the last couple of years to represent Australia as the women's skiff crew at the World Youth Championships. You have probably seen them on the river training in all weather conditions The girls are stepping back into the 29er after having trained with the Australian Sailing 49er FX Class Squad since the beginning of this year. Chloe and Jasmin have a substantial financial contribution to make towards attending the Youth World Championships and they would greatly appreciate any support that you might be able to give. The Australian Sports Foundation now allows for tax-deductible donations to be made to individual athletes (previously projects only). Your contributions will go to Chloe and Jasmin. Disabled Surfers Association Mornington Peninsula - are using their G4G funds to build a boardwalk for wheelchair access at Port Leo Beach to provide all-abilities access to the beach Lakeside Sailing Club Pakenham will install a floating jetty to enable wheelchair users to participate in sailing. Once installed, the club will conduct ‘come and try sailing’ days. Mountain Creek Junior Australian Football Club will be running AFL clinics on skills, drills, goal setting and healthy eating. Club members will be continuously undertaking skills training and pass on what they have learned to the females of Cherbourg to encourage more participation! Introducing the next of our G4G recipients. From NSW the Cabra-Vale Little Athletics Centre are using their funds to provide free Little Athletics to 60 disadvantaged children from the Fairfield area Wellington Hockey Club in Victoria received funds to purchase a special trailer that will be able to accomodate equipment for the disabled players of the club as well as allowing the club to purchase new adaptive equipment such as rattle balls for the visually impaired and stick modifications. Churchill Senior Amateur Basketball Association - are going to fund 20 junior basketball players for a season, providing Indigenous kids in the area with the opportunity to play sport!

What better way to round off the week than by meeting some more of our G4G recipients! 💥 🛶 Bombora Canoe Club Bribie are using their funding to purchase an outrigger that is disability complient as well as extra life jackets this will open up the sport of canoeing up to more of the community ⚽ Ethiopian Sports and Culture Federation Victoria are holding a Diversity Soccer Festival this December, this week long festi will see Ethiopian people from across the state come together for the love of sport! It also attracts participants from local cultural groups! 🇭🇲️ Oxyzgen Indigenous Corporation are starting the Townsville, Queensland Multicultural Soccer program in order to get those who live far away, cannot afford rego fees and uniforms and opportunity to play! The project is aimed at local African Groups and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders 6 years to 18 years of age.Elders of the respected cultural groups will be involved with the project.

Kaz Eaton receiving the Yachting South Australia's Volunteer of the Year award for 2016/2017 for services to sailing. The photo shows the award being presented by Commodore Richard Mackinnon after the opening ceremony. This is a prestigious award and Kaz received it for her considerable efforts starting and running the successful Junior Sail Training program which in now in it's third season. Our club has benefited hugely from this program, and the Adult sail training sessions, in bring new members and a good deal of vitality into the club. Congratulations to Kaz on a much deserved award.
