From the Captain – April 2015
30 April 2015
The year end is fast approaching so it is a great time to engage with your donors to thank them for their ongoing support and to ensure you are front of mind as they plan those end of tax year donations.
With this in mind, we are delighted to launch the first in a series of short ‘how to fundraise’ videos. Check these out to learn more in our extended blog post, including the importance of your story in engaging with your donors. This is just one of a number of new developments at the ASF, all designed to help your sport or your club raise funds more effectively.
We are excited to announce the appointment of two new Sports Partnership Managers, whose role is to join our existing team in working with sports in each State and Territory and to provide support and advice in helping you fundraise more effectively – welcome to the team Chris Bond AM, Paralympic wheelchair rugby gold medallist, who will be based in Queensland and Marcia Wallis (former US professional women’s soccer player) who will cover NSW and the ACT. We have also expanded our marketing and administrative team, to enable us to handle the fast-growing volume of projects and donations – so welcome also to Felicity Wilson (social netballer and sailor), Rebecca Leahey (passionate about NRL and equestrian sports) and Sarah Tutt (enthusiastic soccer player and passionate about, well, all sports really!).
We have also introduced further improvements to our technology platform – particularly the ability to set up a fundraising project online – which will hopefully make the administration of your fundraising programs easier and faster. In the coming days you will receive an email from us with details on how you and members of your organisation can access these new capabilities. I hope these developments are helpful as you grow your fundraising activities and wish you the best of luck in the run-in to 30 June!
