The Goulburn Murray AFL Club has been awarded $7,500 through the Australian Sports Foundation’s Giving4GrassrootsTM program, where the grant will be used to help fund the establishment of a local AFL women’s league.

According to the Riverine Herald, the grant will allow the local AFL club to create a competition made up of eight teams, giving playing opportunity to more than 120 adult females.

Over the past two years, our Giving4GrasstootsTM program has distributed more than $419,000 to grassroots and community sport, aiming to boost participation and develop sport in Australia.
