The Bribie Island Tigers Football Club in the Sunshine Coast league started their 40th season with disappointment upon discovering over the summer holiday thieves had stolen their full-size goalposts from their club.
The Tigers’ vice president Chris Knight said the posts had been stored at the back of the change rooms during maintenance to the field over the Christmas and New year break and that “Someone had just come in and taken them…and we know it was deliberate because it takes two people to move each goal.”
The club is getting ready to start the season in March but the theft is going to take a financial toll, as the club now need to raise $3000 to replace the stolen goal posts.
Knight said that “The club is hoping the Bribie community and our supporters will get behind us and donate the much-needed funds.”
