We are excited to announce that leading international sports goods supplier, Spartan Sports, will sponsor our nationwide Giving4Grassroots™ (G4G™) grants program.
G4G™ funds initiatives and programs aimed at increasing participation in grassroots and community sport throughout Australia. Since its inception in 2014, G4G™ has provided almost $300,000 in grants to 60 sports clubs, benefitting more than 18,000 participants.
Spartan Sports will supply sporting and training equipment to successful G4G™ grant applicants across cricket, rugby league, rugby union, football, netball, basketball and volleyball.
Our Chief Executive, Patrick Walker, thanked Spartan Sports for its partnership saying more children will experience the personal enjoyment, positive health and social benefits sport provides to Australian communities.
“The best way we as a country can help overcome obesity and inactivity among young Australian is by providing new sports and training equipment to attract them to playing sport, and for sports participation to become an enjoyable and healthy recreation,” said Mr Walker.
“Local sports communities are at the heart of our G4G™ program, and our values are perfectly aligned with those of Spartan Sports,” he added.
Spartan Sports Managing Director, Kunal Sharma, said his company was delighted to be able to assist grassroots sport in Australia via the Foundation’s G4G™ program.
“Spartan Sports is passionate about sport whether it is played competitively or for leisure,” he said. “Our focus is supplying sporting goods that contribute to the development of individuals and teams.”
