Together with Anglesea Motor Yacht Club we are rasing $450,000 to upgrade the club house. The building at Point Roadknight beach has been there for 55 years and is now in need of major maintenance and facility upgrade.
The fundraising program will contribute to the planned extensions at the clubhouse and also go towards purchasing new junior training boats and training programs ahead of the summer season.
The club said they had been working with authorities for many years to make sure the proposed upgrade meet the guidelines and regulations. The club wanted to maintain the ‘quaintness’ of the building but to enhance the look and feel of the building.
The renovations will add increased storage space for junior training boats and rescue service boats. The internal makeover will see improved kitchen and bar facilites as well.
The need for renovations has come as club membership increases and severl community groups and local services use the clubhouse during peak periods.
