Magpies Rebuild after Robbery

31 March 2017

In 2016 the Hay Magpies Rugby League Club were robbed and lost almost all of their equipment, team jumpers, and water bottles.

The footy season is now underway and the club is finding it difficult to replace the apparel and gear so have partnered with the Foundation so that members of the community can make tax-deductible donations to the Hay Magpies and help them get back on their feet.

The financial burden of this massive task is too large for the club to cover alone and as the Magpie’s secretary Tara Dixon explained they try as a club to “keep costs to families low, because of the travel involved in playing sport in Hay, so we do not want to pass these additional costs onto parents.”

The rugby league club has started the “Hay Magpies Flying High” project through the Foundation and all donations will go straight to getting the much-needed equipment and gear for the club.
