Redevelopments look to bring Clare Oval back to its best

24 January 2017

Clare Sports Club in South Australia has started a fundraiser to bring Clare Town Oval back to its very best. According to the Northern Argus, the project was set up with the help of the Australian Sports Foundation and hopes to raise $500,000.

President of North Clare Football Club Ian Pearce said the money would go towards reviving the oval’s surface which is “virtually devoid of grass because it doesn’t stand up to the traffic and the frost”.

Clare Town Oval is in need of a redevelopment in order to accommodate the growing demand and use. Mr Pearce said it is not only “the resurfacing of the oval… but the oval also requires new lights and new facilities”.

The Clare Oval Redevelopment Committee said the fundraising project is set to bring the community and local businesses of Clare together, with the end goal of bringing new life to a vibrant local sporting community.
