Kids Sport 2020 It is my mission to teach kids to enjoy and love sport at an early age to better their futures. In recent times due to social distancing and isolation, our lives as we know it have changed. It is important that as the restrictions start to ease children are encouraged to engage in sporting activities in small groups with other children. Our Sport sessions are not only fun, they provide fitness for a healthy lifestyle and they also teach your kids vital skills they use in their daily life. 1. The skill development they gain in sport encourages hand-eye coordination, focus, balance and aim. 2. The social participation aspect allows them to learn to take turns, work as a team, leadership skills, make friends and generally feel included in a group. Our goal is to create a program which is fun and includes all kids. Our programs will teach kids sport skills and skills to better their life. Kids Sport for Life is fundraising to start sports programs again as COVID 19 restrictions are slowly lifting. We hope that our programs can commence as soon as possible and the kids can be back enjoying the sports they love to enjoy the benefits of sports in our communities.

PHGC Indoor Teaching Facility The relocation of the Pro Shop to the main building has provided a number of efficiencies and benefits to staff and members alike. It has also left a legacy that includes (no change) to the suitably equipped storage facility for golf carts, the previous pro shop premises and the very old buggy and club storage rooms. The old pro shop premises are need of roof repair but have provided an excellent history and archive facility that houses an impressive collection of club memorabilia, records and cultural curios. Well worth a visit. Unfortunately the old buggy and golf club storage wing is in need of demolition, it was built cheaply, it leaks and is highly likely to contain asbestos although not of the friable variety. The original plans of the clubhouse extension and relocation of the pro shop included an indoor training capability; unfortunately this initiative was abandoned due to subsequent cost overruns and the discovery of asbestos. Given our inability to offer an outdoor driving range together with the absence of all-weather lesson facilities and the growth of classes for juniors it has placed our exceptional teaching pros under some stress as well as hampering our capacity to provide modern -training facilities for members. In response the Board have elected to consider demolition of the old storage wing and construct an integrated training and development centre that provides golf simulators linked to big screens, indoor nets and an all-weather trackman capability. It is also planned to include adjacent outdoor chipping, putting and bunker play areas as well as provision for a classroom to be used in group lessons or seminars. It is a stimulating project initiative that offers significant member benefit. A donation of $1,000 also provides membership to the Foundation.

Koby Giles - IFAF U20 World Championships Koby started playing Gridiron in 2018 at the age of 13 at the West Coast Wolverines in the U19s team after being on the sideline the year prior at the club. Koby transferred across to the Perth Broncos in 2019 for two seasons, where given his size honed in on his skills as a lineman. In 2021, Koby returned to the West Coast Wolverines, not only playing in the u20s league but as a key player in the seniors team. In the 22/23 season Koby was an instrumental player at the Wolverines, which won the state U20 championship. Koby, while still eligible to play U20s made a personal decision to transfer to the Vincent City Ducks to play in the seniors league for the 23/24 season. Koby’s first season at the Ducks afforded him the opportunity to gain further technical knowledge, and mature as a player and a young man. Koby has now been selected to represent Australia at the IFAF 2024 U20 World Championship. The opportunity to represent Australia has the potential of paving a way for Koby’s future as an athlete and to further his studies. The cost of representing Australia is expensive to self fund, particularly as young adult studying full time to become an Education Assistant. As such Koby is seeking donations to assist in covering the costs associated with his attendance to the 2024 World Championships in Canada.

Aboriginal Cricket These dedicated Aboriginal cricket programs will ensure that the love of cricket is channeled into activities that allow Aboriginal people to succeed in the game and ensure support is provided for ongoing engagement that reflects how Aboriginal people want to participate in the game either in structured or unstructured competitions. Over time, these programs will also ensure that talented Aboriginal players will remain in the game longer and become role models to inspire the next generation of Aboriginal players. We will be working with other NGOs to ensure that we are incorporating nutritional, mental health and leadership capabilities into all our Aboriginal programs to ensure we are developing participants as good people as well as good cricketers. The dedicated programs are detailed below: School Leadership This school based program uses cricket as the vehicle to provide Aboriginal students with personal development by up-skilling in the areas of leadership, personal development, goal setting, resilience and public speaking through cricket programs. Deadly Cricket Aims at providing Aboriginal youth in regional WA with a social inclusion and engagement program that promotes involvement in cricket and a education in areas such as nutrition, mental health and leadership. Kambarang Youth Carnival A community participation and pathway program aimed at bringing Aboriginal youth living in metro and regional WA together through an annual carnival that promotes social inclusion, health and wellbeing and provides a pathway that links to the WA Aboriginal XI.

Aboriginal people are greatly under represented in community and elite cricket programs, despite there being a strong historic association with the game. 

These dedicated  programs will improve engagement  in schools and the community in ways that are safe, accessible, fun and meet community needs.

Areas of support may include: Development of training, playing and administration facilities Team travel to state, national and international competitions including transportation, accommodation, competition entry fees Purchase of equipment such as medical, gymnasium and football related technology Player and coach development such as training resources, sports science/sports medicine initiatives, training camps, clinics, courses/seminars and leadership programs Educational assistance such as scholarship initiatives, academic opportunities, work experience and placement High performance programs Grassroots programs History/heritage initiatives such as the collection, preservation, cataloging and display of club memorabilia, and/or the fit out of a facility.

Interstate Travel Fund Ursula is a highly dedicated and motivated 15 year old Women’s Artistic Gymnast who trains at Perth Gymnastics Academy. Ursula is competing in the Senior International division, training 28+ hours a week. Ursula has been selected on the WAG State team, representing Western Australia at the Australian Gymnastics Championships on the Gold Coast May 10-12. We are raising travel and competition funds for this interstate competition where Ursula will be competing against the best WAG senior International athletes in the country. This event is also a trial for representation for Australia at future International competitions and training camps at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra Some of Ursula’s achievements to date are: 2018-23 Representing WA at the Australian Gymnastics Championships 2021 All Around Future International Australian Champion 2022 All Around Future International Australian Champion 2022 Future International Australian Championships Team Gold 2023 represented Australia at the Australian Junior Classic May 6th - All around champion Gold, silver on bars, bronze on Floor 2023 Australian Gymnastics Championships - all around Australian Champion, gold on bars and beam, silver on floor. 2023 selection into the Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Paris 2024 camp, training at the AIS Canberra 2023 National Clubs Junior International All Around Champion, gold on bars and silver on beam November 2023 represented Australia at the Tournoi International de Combs-la-Ville in France. Placing 8th on beam qualifying as 2nd reserve. November 2023 represented Australia at the Hopes Olympic Cup in the Czech Republic. WAG Junior International team placed 2nd and Qualified for bars finals placing 5th. Ursula is tracking well on the International Pathway but Perths isolation comes with a huge financial cost - Flights, accomodation, GWA and club travel levy’s being some of the expenses to be met. Fitzroy Football Club - Player Assistance Fund As most supporters would know, there are considerable costs associated with fielding teams to represent our great club. This includes grounds, trainers, coaches, footballs, insurance, league fees and much more. This means that we need to charge our players registration fees. Many of our players are students with part-time work, or graduates at entry level jobs, and finding the registration fees each season can be a challenge. To help ease this burden, the Club seeks sponsorship of player registration fees by members and supporters. These donations can only cover all or part of a player's registration fees and are managed via the Club rather than being given to the player. Through the Australian Sports Foundation (ASF), supporters and members receive a tax deduction for assisting FFC players to cover the cost of their registration. Coaches each season provide a list of players recommended for sponsorship, with priority given to those who will most benefit from such assistance. Donations of between $295 and $480 will cover player registration fees across all teams, with the 2024 fees outlined here: Team Registration fees Men’s Senior and Reserves $480 Women’s Senior and Reserves $390 Men’s Thirds $325 Under 19s $295 If you would like to make a contribution towards part of a player's registration fee, please feel free to do so and your contribution will be grouped with other kind donations. MUWFC Operations Fund The Melbourne University Women's Football Club (MUWFC) has set up an Operations Fund, where donations will be used for operational items that support the day to day running of the Club. In doing so, we have partnered with the Australian Sports Foundation to enable donations to the MUWFC Operations Fund to be fully tax deductible! In 2020, we will be fielding two teams in the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA), as well as working with Melbourne University Sport to field teams at the Australian University Games and other intervarsity matches. MUWFC teams will be competing in the VAFA Premier B, Premier B Reserves and Thirds competitions. The cost of running an amateur football club continues to rise each year, with expenses expected to approach $50,000 this season. While our committee are volunteers there are major costs we encounter on an annual basis which we cannot avoid, they include: VAFA Affiliation Fees (>$15k) Coaching Department (>$13k) Football Department (>$8k) Medical Expenses, Insurance, Ground Rental, Equipment purchases Whilst we have great support from sponsors and Club members, our growth and progress up the grades is confined by our limited budget. Sharks Have Heart: Cronulla Sharks Foundation Sharks Have Heart 2023-26 Strategy! In August 2022, we released our refreshed Sharks Have Heart strategy for 2023-2026. The strategy includes four evidence-based signature programs which will support a healthy, inclusive, connected community and a thriving sport sector. Our signature programs focus on target groups including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people living with disability, young people, and our ageing population. The strategy also includes Heartfelt Moments, these actions lift the spirits of those within our community who are facing adversity including those in hospitals and aged care. Finally, our From the Heart giving activities within the strategy will see us partner with four charities each season. These charities will be able to utilise the partnership and our brand to support their own social impact programs and expand their reach. The more support we have from generous donors, the more our programs and our potential to reach those in the community who need us grows.

The Cronulla Sharks gain our reputation as the ‘Community Club’ by utilising the profile of our players and the Game to create social impact and bring about meaningful change. We do this through our charitable foundation Sharks Have Heart.

Magic United Player Pathways 2024 Magic United aim to provide professional development and football pathways to children of all abilities. Players also need equipment to train with. Football in Australia is often run and coached by volunteers who have no history in the game of football themselves. Magic wish to provide an option for families that love football to be in an environment where every child is coached by a qualified coach and where every coach coaches the kids in the same pathway. Where all kids know all coaches and where all coaches know all kids and everyone is celebrated within a true football community. This has enormous benefits for the sport. All too often in football kids feel there is no pathway for them after hitting the age of 11 or 12, if they don't make a rep team or an Academy (NPL) team they are usually lost to Rugby Union, League or AFL as they have not felt any future in the sport they are playing. Younger children need to see from an early age that this pathway exists and need to be in an environment where their love of football is celebrated and they are given the skills and pathways to continue enjoying the sport into adulthood. LHC Rowing Athlete Development Lourdes Hill College (LHC) Rowing aims to raise funds to support the development of our rowers and coaching staff through various fundraising initiatives. Donations to the Athlete Development Fund will be used for a variety of activities to support rower development. This will help to prepare LHC Rowers well for the 2024 season. Any donation of $2 or more paid through the Australian Sports Foundation is tax deductible.
