International Rugby Academy Australia The International Rugby Academy Australia (IRAA) is an independent, not-for-profit organisation set up to maximise the rugby potential of male and female rugby union players and coaches - for the wider benefit of Australian rugby and sponsored by Investec Australia Ltd. Camps will be held at Sydney Olympic Park and accommodation provided by Accor Hotels. The program has a national focus and the players and coaches will learn from best of the best former legendary Wallabies and All Blacks including John Eales, Phil Kearns, Tim Horan, George Gregan and Nick Farr-Jones. Michael Lynagh AM is the Patron of the IRAA. The first camps will take place in January, 2020. The IRAA program is endorsed by Rugby Australia

Mazenod All Abilities Football Club 100km Fundraising Run on Saturday the 20th of April 2024 Jake Walton, a coach at the Mazenod Panthers is completing a 100km run to raise funds for the All Abilities Football club. The purpose of this fund raiser is to assist members of Mazenod Panthers, an all abilities football club, who are experiencing financial difficulties, continue to participate in sport and community interaction. About the Mazenod Panthers: The Mazenod panthers supports teenagers and adults of all ages with intellectual disabilities to engage with social and physical activities. Mazenod Panthers has been in operation since 2005 and has supported hundreds of families to engage with their community. Why are we raising money? Unfortunately, raising children with disabilities is often a costly task, and many of the families who participate struggle to raise the funds to be involved. This social interaction and access to sport is an essential part of these peoples lives, and is vital to their development. The funds raised will be used to support a community fund to assist these families to remain involved with this vital outlet, when they would otherwise have to withdraw.

Susan Seipel Susan Seipel is a diverse athlete with a background in swimming and equestrian. She proudly represented Australia at the Rio Paralympics, and won a Bronze medal in Para-canoe (kayak). At the COVID delayed 2020 Tokyo Paralympics she won a Silver medal in Para-canoe (outrigger canoe). ﻿ Please join and support Susan as she aims for GOLD at the Paris 2024 Paralympics! Born with Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenital (AMC), a rare disorder characterised by the fusion of joints and absent muscle formation in her legs. She had her 1st operation at only 4 weeks old, and was admitted to hospital 13 times before the age of 15. Susan learnt to swim at the age of four as a form of physiotherapy and excelled at the sport. Susan held six Queensland State records between the ages of 13 and 15, and three Australian National age records in freestyle and backstroke. She also raced against her able-bodied classmates and was selected onto her high school swimming team. While swimming fueled her competitive spirit, Susan’s real sporting passion was riding horses and competing in dressage. After learning to ride at the age of seven, she set herself a goal of becoming a Paralympic champion. In 2006, she made her international debut in the sport at the Pacific Rim Para-Equestrian Dressage International Competition in Canada, where she won bronze. Facing the financial strains of competing in Para-equestrian, Susan found herself looking for another sport to channel her energy into. In 2012, Susan attended a Come and Try Kayaking Day and was inspired to take up Para-canoe and keep her Paralympic dream alive! In 2014, Susan attended her first Para-canoe National Championships and won three of her races, with personal best times. She was then selected to represent Australia at the 2014 World Championships in Moscow, Russia where she won her heat, and placed 6th in the final. Determined to improve, Susan challenged herself to paddle both boats used in Para-canoe; the outrigger canoe and the kayak. Her hard work paid off at the 2015 World Championships in Italy where she won Bronze in the 200m kayak race and Gold in the 200m outrigger canoe race. She successful defended her outrigger canoe Wold Champion title the following year at the 2016 World Championships in Germany, and secured another Bronze medal in the kayak event for Australia. Susan Seipel proudly represented Australia at the 2016 Rio Paralympics Games, where she won a Bronze medal and was the first Australian in history to win a medal in Para-canoe at the Paralympic Games . Following her Paralympic debut and continued international success, it was smooth sailing towards selection for Tokyo until the global COVID-19 pandemic threatened to 'sink' years of hard work. Despite the unprecedented postponement, Susan persevered with training in the face of uncertainty and won a Silver medal in outrigger canoe at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games. Susan hopes that by sharing her story she can inspire others to overcome adversity and follow their dreams. Old Camberwell Supporter Drive 2024 The Club is pleased to announce the launch of our 2024 Supporter Offering – $50K in ’24! After the resounding success of our ‘Festival of Footy’ across the pandemic-impacted years of 2020 and 2021, we’re hoping to raise $50,000 in supporter revenue in 2024 to allow the club to: · Improve our training and playing facilities, including upgrades to our gym equipment; · Bolster coaching and development resources to give players the best chance for success both on and off-field; · Purchase over 100 new playing uniforms across Senior Men’s and Women’s teams; and · Invest in tools and technology that will help ensure the club is set up for sustainable, long-term success. This year we have also established the exciting new initiative called the Old Camberwell Patrons Club. To ensure the long-term financial sustainability of the club our goal is to build a capital fund, the income from which could be used to cover not only annual operating expenses but capital projects as they arise, such as improvements to facilities and the club gymnasium. With this in mind, we are introducing a Patrons Club. It is envisaged it will consist of a select group of supporters who are willing to commit a minimum of $1,000 to the club each year. Patrons will be listed on the club website with their photos, and recognised and thanked across the year for their generous support. We are hoping to raise $50,000 through this initiative, and would be delighted to welcome you as a member of the Old Camberwell Patrons Club.

Olena's Australian Representation Travel Fund Hi, my name is Olena Edmeades and I am 17yrs old. I am an AIS Senior International categorised Women Artistic Gymnast and have recently been selected to represent Australia at the Gymnova Cup in Belgium with a training camp in Wales. To find out more about my journey please read on . I started gymnastics at the age of 5 and moved into the development squad soon after, I was selected onto my first Western Australian team at age 9 and my first Junior Australian team at age 12. I dedicate up to 28 hours a week training to the development of my skills, consistency, and artistry, to compete at gymnastics highest level as a Senior International. Some of my achievements have been 2022 Commonwealth Games ( non travelling reserve) Oceanic Championships ( Australian Team Gold medal) 2022 DTB POKAL Cup (Australian Team Bronze medal) 2021 GWA WAG Senior International Athlete of the Year Australian National Champion WA State Champion I am currently studying year 12, and would like to study sport’s performance/ occupational therapy as a profession with my commitment to both athletic and academic excellence. Based on my performances at local Western Australian gymnastics qualifications, video verification events, Paris 2024 training camps and the recent Australian National Gymnastics Championships, I have been selected to represent Australia at the Gymnova Cup (Belgium), and training camp in Wales. As Gymnastics Australia have little funding this is a self funded trip for athletes and coaches . The estimated cost for participation in this event given to me by Gymnastics Australia governing body is $7000, which includes flights to London, Wales and train to Belgium, accommodation and food , competition uniform, competition fees and coach/judges levies, accreditation fee and ground transport for the duration of the event. Having already travelled to Canberra for Paris 2024 gymnastics camp in February and July, and the Australian Gymnastics Championships in May, Australian National Clubs verification event in September in Qld , I would be extremely grateful for any donations that you could provide, that will assist me in gaining valuable experience and insight to enable me to continue chasing my dream of representing Australia at it’s highest level.🇦🇺 Thank you for taking the time to read my story!

Dig Deep for Mireille's Journey to Thailand Mireille is an exceptional beach volleyball athlete who lives at Callala Beach, a regional area of NSW, this has created challenges in attending beach volleyball training, coaching and tournament opportunities domestically. Mireille has trained and played hard this season, which resulted in remarkable achievements that have earned her selection in the Australian U19 Women's Beach Volleyball Team to represent Australia at the U19 Women's Asian Beach Volleyball Championships in Roi Et, Thailand on 1-5 May 2024. In addition, Mireille will now be training in Brisbane from the 25 April for 3 days, which has also come at an additional cost. Mireille is the current highest-ranked U18 player in Australia and ranked an impressive #31 in the Australian Open Women's Tour . Mireille has been teamed up with Queenslander Lara Maric. Australia is sending two teams to compete - Mireille Smith (NSW) / Lara Maric (QLD), and Cameron Zajer (SA) / Jasmine Rayner (QLD) This is a phenomenal achievement for Mireille, highlighting her dedication and talent on the sand.

TRIO W.A.K AUS Elite Acrobats FIG Acrobatic Cups Bulgaria & Portugal 2024 Acrogym Elite Athletes Whitney Picker (18), Aimee Chalk (18) and Kyla Santos (12), 3 Amazing Acrobatic Gymnasts who have earned the opportunity to represent Australia, have pushed through the last 18 months with hard work, motivation, dedication, passion, injuries and many sacrifices to become Elite Acrobats. The trio have consistently demonstrated extraordinary dedication, skill, and commitment to the sport of acrobatics. They have been exceptional athletes, consistently competing at the highest levels and representing our country with pride. Testament to the girls achievements throughout the season and over the past 18 months, together their consistent results include: 1st place 2022 National Club Championships 1st place NSW State Championships 2023 2nd place in Dynamic FIAC April 2023 (against 22 international groups) 1st Place National Championships 2023 1st place August National Squad Trial 2023 The trio have competed with difficulty consistently over the minimum required for national squad or national team selection throughout 2023. 1st place NSW State Championships 2024 The trio travelled to Belgium in April of last year (2023) to compete at FIAC in their first international event together. In-line with the above achievements they have earned the right to represent Australia by being selected into the National Team. They recently attended the national training camp at the Australian Institute of Sports. These girls have been selected and have committed to represent Australia at the upcoming Federation of International Gymnastics events to be held in Bulgaria and Portugal in May 2024. As with most amateur sports in Australia, the financial burden of events such as these, falls on the individual and their families. With no financial support from the relevant sporting or government bodies, these events are fully self funded. In an effort to turn their dream into reality, this page has been created. We are calling on your kindness and generosity to help support these wonderfully talented individuals by contributing to their journey. Big news! Hudson has recently been selected onto the National Squad and is off again. This time to Portugal to attend the World Cup. Representing his country on the world stage is a remarkable achievement and a direct result of Hudson's dedication, hard work, and a year of excellent performances. Supporting young athletes like Hudson is crucial, and it's wonderful to see a community rallying behind him to help him achieve his dreams. 2024 New Goals During the Women's World Cup, we ran an introduction to soccer for girls and women in the Hastings (VIC) area. This has resulted in 3 girl’s teams and a women’s seniors summer football series. The 4 groups now play a weekly 5-a-side game which we run at Western Port Secondary School, since we don’t have access to our home ground during the cricket season. In 2024 these players will become 3 girls teams plus our only senior team in 2024, as we don’t have a men’s team. Our existing mixed teams use inflatable goals which are a nightmare to set up and pack away. We have tried other types of goals, but because we don’t have a secure storage area for goals, they have been vandalized. Cheap non-fixed metal goals were bent out of shape, and plastic goals which have been cracked/smashed. We would like to welcome our newly established female teams with proper thick best-in-class metal 3x2m and 5x2m goals, which we can easily wheel into place for each of their games/training. We would also like our mixed/boys teams to see the newly established girls teams as a benefit to our small community club – rather than a competitor for our limited resources. By introducing the 3 new teams along with the long-awaited goals, the whole club will easily see that this initiative will be great for the long term viability of the club. We see this as essential to help to create a more inclusive and welcoming environment for girls in soccer – and it sends a message that girls are valued members of the club and not relying on the hand-me-downs of their male counterparts. Our potential women’s senior team can use the existing full-size goals provided by the council, but will also use the small goals for training.

The fundraising campaign is an effort to provide the young players with the necessary gear to play and represent the club in a professional manner. The team is asking for support from the community to help them reach their goal and provide the young players with the resources they need to succeed on and off the field.

Aussie Athlete Fund Many talented young athletes are denied the opportunity to pursue their dreams of representing Australia because they or their families can’t afford to fund the escalating costs of living, training and competition fees. The requirement for international travel, equipment, coaching, food and accommodation can mean that their green and gold dreams are out of reach, especially for athletes from remote, rural and Indigenous communities. The facts: costs involved to compete at an elite level can be overwhelming. There's a perception that elite athletes are well paid, but that is a privilege not afforded to many. The reality is, it’s near impossible to earn a living wage from sport, or hold down work that fits around training, competition and travel schedules. Almost half of Australia's best athletes earn below the poverty line threshold with an annual income of less than $23,000. (Ref: ASF, 2023 research studies) Athletes are expected to win gold medals on less than the minimum wage. Balancing elite training, competitions, recovery, work, study and day to day life often isn’t feasible. Many athletes quit, burn out or both. Aussie Athlete Fund will help to break down the barriers faced by our emerging elite athletes by providing access to funding, fundraising education and mentoring support – easing the burden an athlete faces once selected to represent Australia.
