Visit websiteObstacle Australia is a member based nonprofit that represents the needs of obstacle athletes, events, viewers and supporters through representation and engagement.
Our mission is to promote obstacle sports throughout Australia and meet the requirements specified by the Australian Olympic Committee and World Obstacle, the Fédération Internationale de Sports d’Obstacles.
We have 35 qualified athletes that qualified to represent our country in World Obstacle Racing Championship in Belgium, 14-17 of September, 2023.
As a new sport obstacle racing is fully self funded so travelling overseas would be very challenging as athletes need to take time off work and studding.
We looking for funding to cover travel costs, uniform and registration .
A bit of history..
Over the past half decade, obstacle-course racing has taken world by storm, adding handfuls of physical challenges to a normal running race course to create intense endurance hybrids like Tough Mudder, Spartan Race and True Grit.
The forward momentum has been so swift that obstacle-course racing could be in line for an Olympic by 2028.
In fact, obstacle racing has already established an official governing body, World Obstacle - the first step in gaining legitimacy with its appointed leader, and adventure racing icon, Ian Adamson.
The World Obstacle has been testing the discipline in recent months at all levels with feedback being overwhelmingly positive from both athletes and federations.
