Visit websiteI first made my Australia team debut at the 2017 World Para Athletic Championships 5 years after sustaining a career ending ankle injury playing SANFL football. Qualifying for the final round, I finished 7th in the world achieving a new Australian and Oceania record in the F44 Discus Throw. Since then I qualified for two more Australian teams, albeit missing both, one due to withdrawal because of a family medical emergency and the other due to extraordinary selection criteria.
In the last few years I have taken time away from sport for a few different reasons including time to raise our young family and to grow our business The Adaptability Movement. Recently after supporting an enthusiastic young athlete with their own Discus training I have felt the call to compete again, albeit very late in the domestic season. With 2023 Paris World Championships taking place in July I still have time to post qualifying marks to be eligible, however I will need to attend multiple interstate events in the lead up to the June 7th closing date.
My biggest challenges to achieving this are the time commitment of training and the financial costs to attend the necessary events to successfully qualify for the World Championships.
Given time is something I will need to coordinate, I am seeking support financially to explore my capacity to make another Australia team this year and hopeful compete again on the world stage. I would be honoured and grateful if you could help either with by making a donation within your means or by passing this on to someone in a better position to help out.
