Adam is 17 years old and is a year 12 student at Scotch College Adelaide. He has been selected by Rowing Australia in the coxless IV to represent his country in the 2022 World Rowing Under 19 Championships which are being held in Italy in July.
Most of the cost of the trip is subsidised by rowing organisations and the expectation is that the athletes will fund-raise the remainder. This leaves Adam in a position where he needs to raise $5,500.
Many people will remember Adam as a very successful swimmer in his earlier years and he still holds over 40 South Australian State Records. Since he started rowing at school in 2018 he fell in love with the sport and quickly transitioned from swimming. He has rowed very successfully for Scotch winning Head of the River in the Coxed Quad in 2019 and then rowing in the 1st VIII for 3 seasons.
Individually he has won many State and national titles for the school including Australian Champion in the Schoolboy Single Scull in 2021 and 2022. During this time he has also been representing Adelaide Rowing Club and South Australian Sport Institute notably winning the Under 19 single scull events in SA, NSW and nationally this year.
Adam has won national indoor rowing events in Australia. USA and Britain and holds many Australian indoor records.
Adam was selected last year as the youngest member of the Australian Rowing Team in the U19 VIII and would have represented us in the World Championships in Bulgaria but Covid restrictions prevented the team from attending.
Adam is very proud and excited about his opportunity to represent Australia for the first time.
