Visit websiteAdelaide's Bouldering Club community is helping ABC High Performace and Youth National Athlete to raise money for International Competitions Fees, Travel, Accommodation and Coach/Travel Guardian expenses to participate at the 2022 IFSC Youth World Championship in Dallas, Texas, United States of America.
Theodora started climbing at Adelaide Bouldering Club in 2013, at the age of 9.5. Within almost a year, at the age of 11, she became the first South Australian climber to win a gold medal in Youth Bouldering Nationals in Ballarat in 2015.
Theodora has participated in all Nationals Championships since. These were her results:
- 2015 Boulder National Championship (Ballarat): 1st Place Youth C Female
- 2016 Boulder National Championship (Brisbane): 3rd Place Youth C Female
- 2017 Youth National Championship (Melbourne): 12th Place Youth B Female
- 2018 Youth National Championship (Sydney): 5th Place Youth B Female
- 2019 Youth National Championship (Sydney): 4th Place Youth A Female (Joining the Youth National Team)
- 2022 Youth National Championship (Sydney): 1st Place Junior Female (Qualifying for 2022 IFSC Youth World Championship and 2022 IFSC Oceania Championship)
On all State Level events, Theodora has been 1st Place in her Category or Top 3 on Opens (Adult Category)
Thanks to her impressive results, Theodora became the first Athlete to receive a South Australian Sports Institute Scholarship for Sport Climbing. Giving her the opportunity to receive professional services to improve her fitness and performance.
This year Theodora has put her University Studies aside to focus 100% on her climbing career. She is training seven times a week, multiple times a day and is assisted by multiple High-Performance Professionals.
Unfortunately, Sport Climbing is a new and emerging sport, so Sport Climbing Australia (NSO) has no way to help athletes financially to participate in International events.
Theodora's parents are currently living overseas and don't have the financial capacity to fund Theodora's sports travel expenses.
Theodora is currently working as a cook on her time off from training, to save money for her international competitions. She also is applying for all grants available for athletes and has received some funding from SASI. Unfortunately, due to the high cost of travel for these events, she will need extra help from the community, family and friends to help her raise enough money to get to Youth World Championships.
Donate today and help Theodora to get to Dallas and compete at the 2022 Youth World Championship.
