Hi! I'm Aislin Jones.

I'm 24 years old, 7 times National Women's Champion in Olympic Skeet, represented Australia at the Rio Olympics in 2016 and 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games. In my spare time I like running with my labrador and I'm training to achieve my goal of running a marathon in 2024.

I was born in 2000 and funnily enough Mum bought me a Sydney merch T-shirt for a "Junior Olympian". I've included it in the gallery pics. It's very cool that she even kept it. After watching the London Olympics in 2012 I knew I wanted to represent Australia, but at that point had no idea if it would be in Volleyball or Shooting - I loved both!

After London I met my friend, coach and mentor Lauryn Mark (see gallery images) and my journey began. I hit my goal four years early and went to Rio in 2016 as the youngest person to ever shoot for Australia at an Olympics. It was the beginning of my Olympic journey! In 2018 I won my first Junior World Cup and set a Junior World Record, and equalled Lauryn's record at my home Comm Games on the Gold Coast. Now I want to go for Gold! But I need your help.

I've excited and proud to have been selected for my second Australian Olympic Team for Paris 2024! I remember my Rio Qantas boarding pass - I still have it. This one means a lot more! The AOC covers the actual travel to France, but I need to fundraise to cover my time off work, training, selection and other travel expenses. Beyond that I already need to think about how I manage 2025 World Cups and the World Championships in Egypt in November next year.

I'm taking part in the Aussie Athlete Fund's Million Dollar Challenge powered by Ampol, where 100 Aussie athletes will be paired with businesses to try to raise a million dollars for 100 athletes.

Why? It's incredibly difficult to be an international athlete in most sports. Most rely on fundraising in some form to represent Australia. We all run out of annual leave most years if we're working for someone else. Without the help of businesses, fundraising and the ASF many of us could not afford to compete and live.

I'm a Commerce student at Deakin University and work as a Senior Estimator at Wood Street Windows in Bairnsdale. This year, between going part time at work to fit in training for the Olympics, study, work and unpaid time off to compete nationally and internationally, I will have needed at least 3 months unpaid time between our 2024 National Championships in January & the Olympics in August - and I'll have a zero annual leave balance going into whatever international events follow. Any World Cups and World Championships in 2025 will also mean unpaid time off.

I can't do this alone. It's not easy to ask but I need your help please.

I'm very lucky that the Aussie Athlete Fund driven by Aussie Olympic Gold Medalist, Nat Cook OAM has teamed up with Ampol & are helping me and many other athletes on our journey to represent Australia at the highest levels of sport around the globe. They are looking for 100 businesses to team up with 100 athletes to raise a million dollars for athletes representing the green & gold.

I have been paired with Paul C Taylor from Fidelity Australia to help me fundraise, network, mentor & support me. Paul will become an integral part of Team Aislin. And I can't wait to work with Paul to learn from him while also raising funds to support my time, training and travel costs to continue to dream big and represent the green & gold at the pinnacle events for our sport.

I'm so excited to be part of Nat Cook's Aussie Athlete Fund's Million Dollar Challenge powered by Ampol! To watch a short video of Nat explaining the challenge click here.
