Journey to World Para Athletics Championships & 2028/2032 Paralympics

Your donation is supporting Alexander McKillop
My name is Alexander McKillop (Aged 23). I am a member of the OVA Athletics Club, Tasmania and a Tasmanian Institute of Sport scholarship recipient. My coach is Rosie Coleman.
I have been competing as a T36 Para Athlete since I was 14 in 100m & 200m Ambulant events. My goal is to represent Australia at the Paralympic Games for the 100m.
Last year I ran one Qualifier to be eligible for selection in the Paris Paralympic Games Athletics Team. Unfortunately, I was not selected in the team this year even though I am currently ranked 4th in the world for the T36 100m. I am determined to keep training hard and improve my times.
I have previously represented Australia and medalled in the Melanesian Games in Vanuatu (2018), the Arafura Games (2019), and Oceania Athletics Championships in (2022/2024). At the 2024 Australian Athletics Championships, I achieved Bronze in the 100m Ambulant and Gold in the 200m Ambulant events.
I am yet to represent Australia at a World Para Athletics Championships or the Paralympic Games which is my dream.
My home state is Tasmania. I need to attend multiple interstate events throughout my athletics journey to enable me to meet with, and compete against, other high-performance para-athletes. My coach would like me to compete in international Para Grand Prix's to gain international competition experience.
Due to my disability coach Rosie attends all competitions with me to assist me with my journey. Rosie has volunteered her time as a coach for 32 years and has coached and supported my journey for the past 8 years.
The cost for both Rosie and I to attend away-from-home competitions is significant. Any financial support to help me reach my dream of representing Australia at the 2025 Para World Athletics Championships and 2028/2032 Paralympic Games would be greatly appreciated. All funds will go directly to airfares, accommodation and other associated competition costs for both Rosie and myself.
Thank you for supporting me with my athletics journey and dream to represent Australia at the Paralympic Games.
