At 14 years old, Allyssa, a local Blackheathen, has been selected to be part of Football NSW U16 team to compete in a tournament in Japan in August. She is also hoping to be selected to be on the Football NSW U16 Country team to go to the National Girls Football Championships in October and then be on the team to go to National Girls Futsal Championships in January. She was fortunate to have been selected for these teams last year. Selection involves travelling to regional areas for game days in the coming months. Allyssa is also a part of Football NSW Talent Support Program which provides additional training and opportunities for players of the future. This also forms a pool of talent from which National Coaches will draw on when selecting teams for Junior Matildas, Future Matildas and ultimately, the Matildas. However the costs of these tournaments and programs with fees, travel, accommodation, boots, club fees and associated costs will amount to approximately $18,000 over the next six months. This is why we are reaching out to our local community to help Allyssa achieve her dreams of representing our Community, our State and our Country and score the goals for her future!
