Amy Chu - Professional Golf Journey

Amy Chu - Professional Golf Journey

My name is Amy Chu, and I am from Sydney, Australia.

Since the age of 12, I have fallen in love with the game of golf, with aspirations of becoming a professional golfer on the LPGA tour and the best female golfer in the world.

Over the years, I have been dedicated to making my dreams of playing professional golf come true. Having had played golf at a high level as an amateur in Australia and Internationally, I was awarded with a full scholarship for four years at Washington State University in the US where I played for the women’s golf team and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Marketing and a Minor in Communications in 2022.

Golfing Achievements as an Amateur:

·     T6th Golfweek Red Sky Collegiate Classic

·     T9th Ron Moore Collegiate Invitational

·     T13th Coeur D’Alene Resort Collegiate Invitational

·     Winner of the Juli Inkster Collegiate Invitational

·     Winner of the Bonville’s Champions Trophy

·     T7th NSW Amateur

·     T4th Avondale Amateur

·     Winner of the South Australian Girls Junior Amateur

·     2x Winner of the Harvey Norman week of golf (back-to-back wins)

·     Winner of the Wollongong Junior Master

·     Winner of the U16’s Nick Faldo Series

·     Winner of the Srixon International Sub-Junior Championships

·     4x NSW Girls State Team & 3x Captain the team to National title

·     2x NSW Women State Team & 1x Captain the team to National title

I turned professional in late 2022, and I am currently a member of the WPGA Tour in Australia and the EPSON Tour in the US. The EPSON Tour is a secondary tour to the LPGA, which provides a pathway to play on the LPGA tour. The EPSON tour is also a great opportunity for me to develop my golf game to the next level and prepare me to play against the best in the world.

Golfing Achievements as a Professional:

·     2024 - Runner up at The Athena

·     2023 - T7th Mollymook Regional Qualifier

·     2023 - T38th Australian Open

·     2023 - T13th Women’s NSW Open

·     2023 - T7th Wagga Wagga Pro-am

·     2023 - T32nd Vic Open

I have been playing the summer Australian events and will be returning to the US this year to pursue my dream of playing on the LPGA. In order to achieve my dream, there is one speedbump in the way, which is the financial struggles of professional golf. This is where I would appreciate your financial support and assistance towards my golfing career. Your tax-deductible donations will be greatly appreciated as it will help support me with my expenses such as:

⁃           Travel

⁃           Accommodation

⁃           Entry fees

⁃           Gym / Physio / Trainers

Golf is more than just a sport for me. The game itself has made a massive impact on me, as it has shaped me into the person I am today. Each day I am honoured to have the opportunity to pursue my golfing dreams. I am extremely grateful for those around me who have supported and helped me to not only become the best golfer I can be, but also the best version of myself. These are only the early stages, and I would love to invite you all along on this journey with me.
