I am an Australian Taekwondo athlete who competes in the -57kg weight division and has medalled in international competitions such as Belgium and Sofia Opens, European presidents cup and multiple Australian based competitions.
I am also part of the of the Combat Institute of Australia which allows me the opportunity to train full time at the National Performance Centre and the Victorian Institute of Sport, both of which are based in Melbourne.
I am currently working towards the Paris Olympic Games in 2024. This requires me to train between 20-25 hours per week while also studying and working part-time, in between travelling to competitions. Unfortunately, due to very limited funding towards taekwondo from the Australian government a lot of my travel and my day-to-day living expenses are self-funded.
For an athlete to make the Olympic Games, they are required to attend multiple competitions within a year, which means travel consistently. However, the expenses of travelling surpass my income which makes it near impossible to travel as much as required.
I am currently selected to travel to China and represent Australia in the World University games in July, which is both exciting and finally stressful. So any donation to help me get there will be greatly appreciated.
