Hi my name is Anna, I've been sailing since I was 9 years old in a range of classes, such as the optimist, 420, 49er FX and now the IQ Windfoil.
When I'm not sailing, I am studying a bachelor of arts at Monash University as well as coaching and being an ambassador for the AIS Mental Fitness Program.
My achievements to date include representing Australia internationally in the optimist class on numerous occasions. Holding the 2020 female 420 national title, and becoming a scholarship athlete at the Victorian Institute of Sport. As well as being part of the Australian Sailing Futures Team in the 49er FX class.
Mid-2023 I began learning how to sail the IQ wind foiling class and I am incredibly excited to be sailing in such a challenging and fast-growing class. My ultimate dream is to represent Australia at the 2028/2032 Olympics, and I am prepared to put in the work needed to achieve this goal. However, the international experience needed to reach this goal will come with financial challenges, so any support will be very much appreciated and will help me pursue this goal full-time.
Highlights from 2024 include:
- competing at the under 23 world championships in Silvaplana
- being invited to the professional windsurfing world tour slalom final in Japan and placing 21st
- a successful domestic racing season: coming away as national champion, 1st at Sail Sydney, 2nd at Sail Brisbane and 3rd at Sail Melbourne
At the start of 2025 I got to race in my first world cups (Princess Sofia Regatta in Palma and French Olympic Week in Hyeres), it was a great learning experience and I'm keen to keep pushing within the fleet.
My next event is the senior World Championships in Denmark, so any support to help me get there will be much appreciated!
