Hello Everyone,

I first started powerlifting only a year ago. I had spent much of 2021 losing 50kgs of weight after undergoing bariatric surgery. My current coach Tom Bessell was my first personal trainer and suggested I take up powerlifting as a sport.

I entered my first novice competition in November 2022 where I put up a total of 325kgs - 102.5kg squat, 82.5kg bench press, 140kg deadlift. After this success we decided to enter the WA GPC State Titles. This was my first offcial federation level competition. Here I competed in the Under 90kgs, Masters 1 class where I won the silver medal with a total of 362.50kgs - 110kg squat, 92.5kg bench press, 160kg deadlift. A total improvement of 37.5kgs.

In June this year I competed in the GPC TJMES National Titles where I won the Gold medal with a total of 410kgs - 135kgs squat, 95kg bench press, 180kg deadlift. Another improvement, this time of 47.5kgs. This has now qualified me to represent Australia and compete in the GPC World Championships in Hungary on the 10th October 2023.
