Dylan (20) and James (16) are brothers from Geelong who compete as swimmers with hearing impairment (S15) at a State, National and International level. They are both moderate to severely hearing impaired.
The boys have been selected by Deaf Swimming Australia to represent Australia at the 6th Deaf World Swimming Championships in Argentina in August 2023 and to fulfil this dream, require the support of all to get them there as this is a fully self funded trip for Australian Deaf Swimmers competing.
By donating to this worthy cause and supporting swimmers with disabilities, these donations will allow the 2 brothers to compete for Australia as well as their Geelong community with pride.
Dylan has 24 Australian Deaf Swimming records ,has represented Australia in Brazil in 2019 at the 5th Deaf World Championships .At a national level Dylan has won 4 Gold ,11 Silver and 6 Bronze medals whilst competing at Australian National Championships as well as a further 16 top 10 placements.
Dylan is a young achiever who won the Geelong City Council Youth Awards in 2023 for Active Achievement Award: “Active Achievement - Competitive hearing-impaired swimmer Dylan Logan, has a reputation for encouraging and inspiring other children with disabilities to participate in sports, be involved in their sporting community and strive for excellence.”
James (16) has just received his cochlear implant in August 2022 and has severe hearing loss and this will be his first International Competition representing Australia, with his sights set firmly on this international meet as a steppingstone to compete in Tokyo in 2025 at the Deaflympics.
James has competed at 4 Australian National Championships and has achieved 11 top 10 placements and a bronze medal in 2023 .
James has also excelled at a state level with his highest acknowledgement winning the Boys Age group Champion Boys MC aged 15–18-year Swimming Victoria award for 2 consecutive years (2022 and 2023) and has successfully achieved 15 Gold ,12 Silver and 9 Bronze medals in the past 3 years across Long and Short Course State Championships.
James is a member of the Victoria State Team and has also represented Team Vic at Australian School sport Championships twice. He is also on the Swimming Victoria MC performance Pathway.
Your donation will contribute towards travel, entry fee's, team uniform, accommodation and food as well as swim gear to compete at these World Championships.
