Visit websiteHi there! We are Ashlee and Brayden Daunt, a sibling duo in the Mixed 470. Ever since we were 12 and 14, we've been passionate about Sailing. Feeling the freedom of being in our own boats out on the water before we could learn to drive was something we cherished.
Our journey in Sailing has been filled with incredible highs and challenging lows. From dominating our youth class in the 29er, we've dedicated countless hours to training, pushing our limits, and striving to be the best we can be. Transitioning into the Mixed 470 class has pushed our skills to a whole new level, presenting the greatest challenge yet.
Our ultimate goal is to represent Australia at the LA 2028 and Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games as the first Australian sibling duo in the Mixed 470 class. Achieving this milestone would be an unforgettable experience, validating the sacrifices our family has made.
I am seeking to raise $10,000 to support my journey towards the LA 2028 Olympic Games. These funds will cover essential costs such as training, equipment, travel, accommodation, and competition fees.
With most of our competitions based in Europe and fleet density extremely low in Australia, we are seeking contributions to assist us in attending international competitions over the next 12 months. After a long pre-season and a few events in Australia, next up will be heading to Europe in March 2025 to attend:
- Princess Sofia Trophy in Palma, Spain
- French Olympic Week in Hyeres, France
- Open 470 Europeans in Split, Croatia
Your support will go a long way to help cover some of our major expenses including:
Training - $5,000 (coaching costs per event)
Flights - $5,000
Accommodation - $15,000
Sails - $5,000 per set of sails (incl. 1x main, 1x jib, 1x kite - the minimum for racing)
Transport of boat - $6,000
Other Equipment - $1,000
Plus much more including spares, wetsuits/clothing, food, transport for ourselves around Europe.
Approximate Total: $37,000
Each donation will directly impact our ability to attend crucial training camps, acquire necessary gear, travel to international competitions, and focus on our performance without financial stress.
Your contribution will not only help us fulfill our personal dreams but also inspire young athletes in our community. By qualifying for the Olympics, we aim to represent Australia proudly and serve as a role model for aspiring sailors nationwide.
Supporting our journey extends beyond athletic pursuit; it embodies perseverance and ambition. Together, we can ignite a spirit of determination that encourages others to chase their dreams relentlessly.
Join us on this exhilarating journey by making a donation today. Every dollar brings us closer to the LA 2028 Olympics and transforms our dreams into reality. Thank you for being a part of our team!
