*UPDATE*

I’m very grateful to have been selected to compete in Germany at the NRW Trophy and in Estonia at the Tallinn Trophy in November, before heading home to compete at the Australian National Championships in December.

I’ve been a competitive figure skater for nearly 18 years and feel so grateful to have had so many wonderful experiences in my career so far, from competing in Junior and Senior international events to becoming a Senior National Bronze Medalist in 2019. After a nasty hip injury at the end of 2019 and a foot fracture in 2021, I thought my journey was over. But something told me I still had more to give. I’m so grateful I didn’t give up and am now back competing again.

 The last line of my free program this season, ‘please let this last forever’, sums up how I feel about getting to compete and share my love of skating with those around me. I know this part of my life won’t last forever though, so this year I’ve been working my hardest to make the most of what years I have left. I don’t want to leave any opportunities unturned.

 Earlier this year, I was so excited to achieve my Senior international qualification scores for this season and have since put in nominations for 2 International events before the end of this year. I also plan to travel to 2 more interstate competitions in the next couple of months. 

 Being that Figure Skating is small sport in Australia, there is little to no financial support available. All my training and travel for competitions is entirely self-funded. I work full time plus some to support myself and my skating career, and as you can imagine, figure skating is not a cheap sport. I can’t afford to train as much as I want and need to. Training costs have gone up by over 50% in the last couple of months, and I’m also primarily coaching myself to save where I can.  

 Any financial support would be so greatly appreciated. All funds raised will go towards travel costs for competitions and help lessen the burden of my weekly training fees to allow me to train more often.
