Athletics Essendon

Bill Burke Fund

About

Athletics Essendon has the right mix of coaching, administration, track and gym to satisfy the needs of athletes of all standards. The club has more active participants in the sport than any other club because of the large number of high standard coaches it has and this has led to a proven record of more members, more team victories and more championship medals than any other Victorian club.

The club has established the Bill Burke Fund with the aim of raising funds to assist junior athletes. Bill died in 2006 after coaching and inspiring thousands of teenagers throughout more than 60 years as Essendon’s head, and often only, coach. Shortly before his death at age 98 Bill made a significant donation to assist future juniors. The club would like to provide assistance for junior athletes in the areas of coaching, interstate travel, registration fees and uniforms and support will be given particularly to promising athletes and those from disadvantaged backgrounds. and the club would like to continue this legacy.

Donate today and help continue Bill’s legacy!
