What is ‘Alliance Day’?

Alliance Day is an annual event organised by the Australian Powerlifting Alliance (APA) to celebrate unity within the powerlifting community; strengthening bonds between gyms, lifters, and volunteers nationwide.

This year, APA’s Alliance Week will feature a deadlift-only competition with a charitable focus: raising funds to support our APA international teams attending the 2025 World Championship Series.

On the weekend of May 3–4, one to two gyms from each state will be designated as an “Outpost Gym”. These gyms will host competitions as part of this coordinated event.

Competitors at MegaNats will also have the opportunity to add Alliance Day participation to their MegaNats entry, allowing their heaviest deadlift at MegaNats to count towards the Alliance Day competition.

Competitors are encouraged to secure supporters who donate $1 per kilo lifted or contribute a one-off amount to the APA’s fundraising page. All donations will be tax-deductible.
